No Scandal Please … April 30, 2009Posted by malaysianstory in A New Chapter, Najib Tun Razak.
We hope our Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will not be distracted by recent negative comments, especially in the new media, in his pursuit for 1Malaysia and to reform, inform and perform.
Comments about his Cabinet Ministers, his alleged involvement in the Altantuya murder case, about his father, his wife and brothers are now being debated and talked about in the Internet media and blogs after he assumed office.
There are those who questioned why Najib had to appoint so many Senators. They claimed some of them are considered political “has been”.
People like Tan Sri Koh Tsu Koon and Datuk Dr Awang Adek were thought to be already out of the country’s mainstream political but were given places in the Cabinet by Najib.
They even asked why do we need Minister for Parliament, Religious Affairs and Federal Territory? And why he needs a Second Finance Minister and Minister in charge of EPU?
Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop was top of the list of those not likely to be re-appointed by Najib but many were surprise when he was included in Najib’s new line-up.
People are talking and still talking that Nor had done nothing good for the country, except blabbering a bit about fiscal knowledge he had whenever he attends official functions.
We remembered how Nor lobbied very hard to be a “calon” during the last general election. He tried the parachute way in Balik Pulau but was kicked out by Datuk Seri Hilmi Yahaya.
He was forewarned by the then Tasek Gelugor Umno division head Datuk Seri Mohd Shariff Omar not to make any attempt to kidnap his “virgin daughter.”
Shariff who was Tasek Gelugor MP has been taking care of the constituency since he became MP in 1982 had likened the constituency as his virgin daughter.
Finally, Nor got his way through when he used Pak Lah to persuade Shariff to make way for him to contest in Tasek Gelugor after money changed hand.
I still remembered when a group of Umno division chiefs from Penang went to Pak Lah office in Putrajaya where one of them told Pak Lah to help Shariff for sacrificing Tasek Gelugor for Nor.
To his surprise Pak Lah replied, “He has enough.” Well, I don’t have to tell you how much money had been paid by Nor.
What happened to the 600-page report against Nor? Pak Lah said the report was under investigations. Is it still being investigated?
We hope there is no scandals or whatsoever involving the Cabinet during Najib’s reign as Prime Minister. Najib will be judged by his cabinet and its performance. He calls his cabinet the “People’s Cabinet”.
We are the people and our voices should be heard, loud and clear, not only by Najib but his Cabinet as well.
