MIC threatens to pull out from Barisan Nasional? By all means, if I have my own way.
The MIC leadership is sulking because they did not get an additional seat in the Cabinet.
And because of that, they make threats and pressure Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to leave BN.
MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Velu said the issue would be discussed at the party’s central working committee Thursday, confirming and substantiating talks and rumors that MIC is leaving BN.
Why is Samy “putting a knife” on Najib’s throat? The party has been a loyal and faithful BN ally through thick and thin for the past 50 years.
My only conclusion is simple. They are very angry and upset because Samy was not appointed as Senator and a Cabinet minister while leaders of other BN component parties, including Gerakan president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon, were made Ministers.
Another reason why Samy is sulking is because MIC was not given an additional seat in the Cabinet while Gerakan and MCA were allotted with an extra deputy minister post each.
But MIC has forgotten that they could not even deliver Bukit Selambau in the recent by-election despite their strong presence and own candidate.
Umno lobbied strongly for its candidate to contest the seat but in the spirit of BN, the party relented and let MIC to contest but their candidate was rejected.
They demand for this and that from BN but they could not even deliver votes for BN.
So, on what reasons and grounds should their demand fulfilled and met?
Umno has sacrificed by giving up Cabinet posts to accommodate Najib’s reduced and smaller Cabinet. So, what is Samy talking about? What does he want?
I think Najib should just ignore this man and continue to build up his efforts and momentum to achieve his dreams of 1Malaysia.
The interest of 26 million people is more important than to entertain the demand of one leader, considered a “has been” and rejected by even his own race.
