The war on hudud is now between DAP adviser Karpal Singh and PKR de-facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
At least, the twist of event has provided some breathing space for PAS president Datuk Seri Hadi Awang who is now caught in a dilemma over the controversy created by his charge Datuk Husam Musa.
Karpal, in a no-holds barred statement, accused Anwar of vacillating in his stance on hudud and threatened to pull DAP out of the fragile coalition of Pakatan-Rakyat if Anwar does not retract his statement on the issue.
Anwar was quoted by the media as saying that PKR would support PAS if the latter implements hudud should the party comes into power.
Karpal said Hadi is unwavering in his stance on hudud while it was inexplicable when Anwar, who had been opposing hudud since his time in the government, is now supporting its implementation.
Karpal and other DAP leaders should not just issue statements, threats and continue to blame others over the hudud issue.
Why not Karpal just issue a statement announcing DAP pull out from Pakatan Rakyat and end the party’s marriage of convenience with PAS and PKR.
It is obvious that DSAI and Hadi do not love Karpal anymore and their “marriage” is on the rock. Instead of playing the cat-and-mouse game, Karpal should go to the Marriage Registrar to file for divorce.
The people are not just cheesed off with their endless marriage problems but are getting confused and suspicious over their melancholy political drama.
It’s time to change and a change for a better Malaysia.
