The list of PAS wrongdoings and misconducts in “Masihkah Kau Ingat?” (Do You Still Remember) circulated during the last lap of campaigning by Umno in the Kuala Terengganu by-election is only a tip of the iceberg.
The list underscores the wrongdoings during PAS rule of Terengganu between 1999 and 2004 and I believe many more could not be circulated and highlighted due to time constraint.
But Do You Still Remember that the biggest peccadillo committed by PAS was during the 80s when PAS president Datuk Seri Hadi Awang issued a decree (fatwa) that all Umno members are infidels (kafir).
Metaphorically, the fatwa by Hadi resulted in each and every Umno member an infidel at that time. In Islam, you will be thrown into hell if you are an infidel.
Well, that’s Hadi who dares to play God and make a fatwa at his whims and fancy and I believe he will not repent and repeat the same antics if he had to time and again.
But astonishingly, Hadi is so afraid to make and irrevocable declaration over his stance on hudud as demanded by his comrades in Pakatan-Rakyat, especially DAP leaders.
He dares to play God but is timid to face reality. He wears the turban promoting his theocratic image but is timorous when he faces the non-Muslims.
