It’s a complete silence. US president-elect Barack HUSSEIN Obama is tight-lipped and closing his eyes over the massacre of Pelestine people by the Zionist Regime.
He promised a change and a better world when he pleaded for votes during his presidential campaign but has not uttered a word over the recent Israel invasion of Gaza that has resulted in the death of over 500 Pelestine people, especially children, women and old folks. So, what change was he talking about?
Likewise, PAS president Datuk Seri Hadi Awang is also silence over his party hardline and unbending policy on hudud and qisas.
He too is keeping mum on mounting pressures from his non-Muslim comrades in Pakatan-Rakyat who had demanded him to state “once and for all” an irrevocable stand against the setting up of an Islamic state.
Why is Hadi so afraid to make a stand?
He is caught in his own political entrapment. The heat is unbearable for Hadi. He has to satisfy not only his buddies in PR but more importantly, leaders and members within his own party.
He refuses to be dragged into the controversy created by his vice-president Datuk Husam Musa as he knows very well that a slip of his mouth will be costly for the party who is facing the crucial Kuala Terengganu by-election.
The 80,000-odd voters of Kuala Terengganu are anxiously waiting what Hadi has to say about the issues.
Hadi has to come clean and make his stand on the issue or it will be the end of the road for PAS in Kuala Terengganu.
