Mother of All By-Elections November 13, 2008Posted by malaysianstory in Uncategorized.
It has been two months after the Permatang Pauh by-election, dubbed by many as the Mother of All By-Elections.
As predicted, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim won with an overwhelming majority. Barisan National lost by some 15,000 votes, not because Anwar is so popular or a good leader.
He triumphed over Datuk Arif Shah Omar Shah (BN candidate) simply because Permatang Pauh Umno was disintegrated and certain Umno leaders in that constituency were greedy and wanted control over the division.
But that is beside the point. What I want to stress or highlight here is that Anwar, whom we elected as MP, is hardly seen in Permatang Pauh now.
He is neither at his Cherok Tok Kun family home in Bukit Mertajam nor at his unmanned service centre at Yayasan Aman in Penanti.
Where is Anwar when the Permatang Pauh constituents need him most? There are so many issues that require Anwar’s attention and that need to be resolved.
After Anwar won on Aug 26, we could not even meet him, the MP that we elected to look after our problems and interests.
Is he too busy with his hallucination of becoming Prime Minister or pre-occupied with his homosexual activities and fantasies?
Even if he returns to his home turf, all he cares about and matters most is his supporters, political friends, political ambition, new deadlines to seize power, allegations of conspiracy that led to his latest sodomy charge and everything about the government that is not right to him.
But what about the Permatang Pauh folks and voters that gave him the support which had put him to what he is today?
Anwar should be remindful that it is just another three years from now before we pick the next Permatang pauh MP through the ballot box.
